HISTORY OF CASA MARIA
Casa Maria is first and foremost a private home built in 1949 and renovated in 1989, made available to you, our valued guests.
Please treat my home with respect and care: it was built brick by brick by my grandparents in a kiln in the corner where I now do the barbecues. It’s the result of love and many sacrifices continued by my parents and now entrusted to me.
The houses on this street have a very similar story to mine—these dwellings are all run by families who have known each other for generations.
I’m not a professional in the tourism sector, but I do my best to meet your needs by putting myself in your shoes and imagining what I’d want in your place. If I’ve overlooked anything, don’t hesitate to let me know so I can improve my guests’ stay.
HOUSE RULES
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO:
- host parties
- smoke (even on the large terrace)
- cook on the terraces
- create disturbing noise
- start fires
- let unauthorized or unregistered people in
- put non-approved metal or plastic in the microwave
- throw anything into the toilet other than a reasonable amount of toilet paper; use the bin for all other waste
- open the sliding glass wall door
- remove any object from CASA MARIA
WHEN LEAVING, IT IS MANDATORY TO:
- ensure the front door is locked,
- turn off all lights, TV, electric heaters, cookers and close all water taps,
- close the gates,
- observe quiet hours after 23:00,
- close the shutters on doors and windows
IT IS ADVISED WHEN YOU LEAVE TO:
- avoid keeping wallets in backpacks, belt bags behind your back, or other easily accessible places
SAFETY:
- For safety reasons, CASA MARIA does not provide keys for internal doors such as bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Please do not leave valuables or cash in the house.
- CASA MARIA has areas with sloped ceilings—please heed the warning signs throughout the house.
Utilities and Use of House Equipment and Air Conditioning
Included in the price of your stay you have 3.3 kW of electricity per day for the following appliances:
- TV with Android smart-TV box
- Coffee machine
- Microwave oven
- Washing machine (to be used only after 23:00 and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays)
- Towel radiator (in winter)
- Pellet stove (in winter)
The Wi-Fi in the house is very poor quality due to an overall weak network service; for this reason it is not included even for a fee. Only the smart-TV box is connected, but streaming is low quality. We suggest using your phone’s hotspot to connect the smart-TV box.
AIR CONDITIONING has its own power-control system: to activate it you must leave a €15 per day deposit (15 kW) in advance. This deposit covers the extra electricity cost—any unused kW will be refunded.
The deposit must be in cash.
The temperature is fixed between 30 °C and 28 °C.
For best effect, close all exterior doors and windows, close the sliding door to the stairs and bathroom, and open the bedroom doors to cool those rooms.
The smart-TV box not only lets you watch Pluto IPTV channels but is also the tool to:
- view the fenced parking lot,
- control the air conditioning (on/off),
- check the available energy balance for the air conditioning,
- watch video tutorials.
To access the home-control interface, the SMART TV BOX must be connected to the house network.
VENICE: How to get there and what you need
To reach Venice from here, simply take tram T1 or bus no. 19.
Both stops are near the town square.
From the gate, turn left and follow the road to its end—you’ll arrive at Via San Donà, where the tram rails run. Turn left again and go straight about 150 m to the Tram T1 stop.
The tram runs every 15 minutes and takes about 40 minutes to Venice.
For bus no. 19, continue along the sidewalk past the municipal offices, turn left at the entrance to Via Altinia, and after about 20 m the Bus 19 stop is on your left.
The bus departs at minutes 35 and 55 and takes about 20 minutes to Venice.
Tickets for tram and bus cost €1.50 and are valid for 75 minutes.
Within 75 minutes after validation you may change tram or bus freely as long as you remain on the mainland within the Venice metropolitan area. Once in Venice, these tickets are not valid on water transport (vaporetto); you must purchase new tickets from ACTV outlets.
Where to buy tickets nearby
On the mainland, tickets can be bought with cash or card at:
- the ticket machine at the tram stop in the town square
- any tobacconist’s
- any newsstand or kiosk

WHERE TO EAT AROUND HERE

Trattoria LA PESA
In the 1950s it served as a weigh station for heavy loads and was a rest stop for truck drivers.
“La Pesa” is perhaps the last restaurant-trattoria in this area to retain the typical Venetian look and traditional cuisine, and it is highly prized by locals for exactly that.
Exit through the gate and turn right. Follow the road all the way to the end, then turn right again—you’ll find yourself on Via Altinia. Turn left there and continue straight for about 200 meters. “La Pesa” will be on your left, directly opposite an IP gas station.
Agriturismo Al boschetto
A charming small agriturismo in the green—about a 20-minute walk via a pleasant woodland path. Reservations recommended.
